[News] Live Nation, AEG battling over Miley tour

Rival concert promoters are taking the gloves off, going all out to win pieces of Miley Cyrus’ global tour.
Live Nation won Round 1 after it agreed to pay the 20-year-old twerker upward of $500,000 a night, according to sources. That was a little too rich for Phil Anschutz’ AEG Worldwide.
Sources say AEG couldn’t see a way to make the US leg of the tour profitable, given how high the bids went.
Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino clearly has a different view of the tongue-wagging Cyrus’ marketability.
But there’s still Round 2: The Europe tour. And the fierce rivals are working hard to win the hot former “Hannah Montana” star.
Cyrus has been a lightning rod for many music lovers after her radical transformation from squeaky-clean child star to down-and-dirty rocker.
Her album took the No. 1 slot in its first week, but sales fell off 73 percent in its second week, with Pearl Jam taking over the top position on the album charts midweek.
