[News] Miley Cyrus Is Out Of The Hospital

A report says the Bangerz singer is feeling better.
After all our hoping and praying, Miley Cyrus was released from the hospital.
A source confirmed to Us Weekly that Miley is feeling better and is on the mend.
"She's doing much better," the insider told the mag. "She had to get it all out of her system. It hit her hard."
Cyrus was hospitalized for a severe reaction to an antibiotic. The singer had the flu at the beginning of the month, and was forced to pull out of a show in North Carolina. A few days later, she had postponed many of her April Bangerz Tour dates until August.
After being hospitalized on April 15, her rep released a statement, saying, "This type of extreme reaction can last from five to 27 days in these types of cases. ... Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans." Miley has been very vocal about missing her tour dates, expressing her frustrations on Twitter.

[News] Miley among TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People

Miley Cyrus - The pop provocateur
by Dolly Parton

If I didn’t know how smart and talented Miley is, I might worry about her. But I’ve watched her grow up. So I don’t. She knows what she’s doing. She was very proud of the work she did as Hannah Montana, but people were gonna leave her there forever. And she was just smotherin’ and chokin’ in it. So she felt she had to do something completely drastic. And she did. She made her point, she made her mark, and more power to her. “Wrecking Ball” is a great song. The whole album is great. So I’m hoping that now she can relax and show people how talented she really is. ’Cause the girl can write. The girl can sing. The girl is smart. And she doesn’t have to be so drastic. But I will respect her choices. I did it my way, so why can’t she do it her way?

[Bangerz Tour] Miley Cyrus European tour dates WILL go ahead despite US shows being postponed

Miley Cyrus was recently admitted to hospital after falling ill and was forced to cancel several of her dates across the US on her ‘Bangerz’ tour.
After a statement was released last week stating that it could take Miley up to a month to recover, fans began worrying that her European tour dates would also be cancelled.
Miley Cyrus had already performed a huge chunk of her gigs across North America and was almost ready to travel to Europe.
After she was admitted to hospital though, when she fell ill with a sinus infection, which would then turn into an allergic reaction to antibiotics, it sounded like the tour was in jeopardy.
The original statement released by the singer’s publicist after she was admitted to hospital stated:
“Miley was suffering from a sinus infection during her tour in N.C. a week ago. She was prescribed the antibiotic cephalexin, which she has now suffered an extreme allergic reaction to. This type of extreme reaction can last from 5 to 27 days in these types of cases.
“She will remain hospitalised and is under a doctor’s care until we see some improvement and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time. Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans.”
Miley kept in touch with her fans throughout her stay in hospital and has continued to do so over the weekend, when she alerted fans to rescheduled tour dates.
These rescheduled tour dates were for North American shows, the dates have been moved to August but fans were still questioning whether or not the singer would be up for her European leg of the tour.
Finally, the fans got word earlier this afternoon (21st April) from a rep who said: “Miley’s European tour is going ahead as planned.”
Miley will begin the European leg of her ‘Bangerz’ tour on the 6th of May for a series of arena shows across the UK.

[News] Miley Cyrus No Longer in Kansas City but Still Sick and Hospitalized

Miley Cyrus isn't in Kansas anymore.
The 21-year-old singer, who was hospitalized last Tuesday because of an "absolutely horrible reaction" to medication, is no longer at a Kansas City hospital, a rep for Cyrus confirms to E! News. While the "Wrecking Ball" singer has moved, her rep tells us she is still hospitalized at another undisclosed location.
After being hospitalized last week, Cyrus was forced to postpone the rest of her U.S. Bangerz tour due to the illness. According to a statement on the pop star's website, existing tickets will be honored on the new dates, which include previously canceled and postponed dates, and the European leg of the tour will "go on as planned."
Before being hospitalized last week, Cyrus was forced to cancel her Charlotte, N.C., show because she was battling major "throat and sinus issues" after getting the flu.
Yesterday, Cyrus spent Easter Sunday and 4/20 in her hospital bed. She tweeted, "Happy 420/ Easter! I'll be where I've been the passed week. In bed. Crying. NOT stoned. Wackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk."
The day before that, Cyrus tweeted that she was feeling a tad better, writing, "my 1st night sleeping all the way thru by myself. no nurses needed now up for breathinggg treatments. PLZ say Im on the road 2 recovery!"
Get better soon!

[News] Miley's Bangerz Tour Creative Director Diane Martel Talks Gingham, Flying Hot Dogs, And More

Ride-or-die Smilers already know, but if you aren't up in Twitter search, looking for the latest update on Miley Cyrus' Bangerz Tour every week, you're missing out on an always changing and growing and constantly entertaining pop show. Along with a grip of glittering new designer togs cycling in week after week, Miles changes up her acoustic set almost every show to keep the variety. With less than a month left of the U.S. leg of her tour, it seems there are still a few surprises up Miley's sleeve. We were lucky enough to catch up with Diane Martel, the tour's creative director and the "We Can't Stop" music director, to get the inside scoop on the weird and wonderful world of Bangerz.

MTV STYLE: How would you define your ole for the Bangerz Tour? What attracted you to the project and what do you oversee?

DIANE MARTEL: Everything about this project was attractive. It was an extraordinary challenge to create a show that is deliberately over-stimulating with an eye on 2014 pop art/culture, while allowing for moments that are simple and heartfelt.
Unlike other people who direct tours, I am a film director, so I took on two roles here. I creative directed and directed the live show with Miley, and I creative directed, co-directed, conceived, and co-produced all of the video content. This was the most challenging job I've had to date. To answer the question, I oversaw every element of the tour from the stage show to the tour book. I have Miley to thank for allowing me the freedom to investigate live performance in this massive way. I think the show is a success and I am proud of it.

How did you and Miley collaborate on creative for the tour? Tells us about the process.

I put together a very specific collection of references, a giant treatment, and showed it to Miley. She added her ideas to mine, and I began working on the tour. We would have meetings every few weeks for me to check in with her to get her approval or comments. It was important for us to create a show that she could play any way she wanted to and that would stay fresh for a long run.

[News] TMZ reveals details about Miley's health status

Miley Cyrus' hospitalization was triggered by a sinus infection gone horribly wrong, TMZ has learned.

Reps for Miley tell us, the singer got an Rx for an antibiotic called cephalexin (brand name Keflex) to treat a sinus infection after getting diagnosed last week in North Carolina.

We're told within days Miley's throat swelled to the point she could barely talk. She was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night and, according to her rep, doctors determined she had an extreme allergic reaction to the drug.

We're told Miley never got a cephalexin script before so she had no idea she was allergic.

She'll remain hospitalized until her condition improves. Her doctor says an allergic reaction of this kind can last 27 days.

[News] Miley Cyrus earned $76.5 million in 2013

Miley Cyrus has literally twerked her way to the top.
Despite a public shunning from her risque MTV Video Music Awards performance with Robin Thicke in August, scandalous stage antics have been credited with earning the pop starlet $76.5million in 2013, according to Parade’s annual salary survey, What People Earn.
Downloads of her single Wrecking Ball shot up 124 percent following the outlandish appearance, allowing the song to sell more than three million copies in the U.S. alone.
The former Disney pin-up's earnings do not include any of the revenue she is set to earn from her international Bangerz tour, which is her fourth concert series.
The tour only kicked in February in America and will move to Europe in May.
While Cyrus' banking is impressive, it's hardly the most money she has been able to make.
In 2011, at the age of 18, she was named #1 on Top 10 Richest Teens in Hollywood, with a net worth of $120 million.

[News] Kelly Osbourne Sounds Off On Her Friendship With Miley Cyrus

Kelly Osbourne is no stranger to Miley Cyrus bashing; she co-hosts E!'s "Fashion Police" alongside the perpetually Cyrus-dissing octogenarian, Joan Rivers.

Osbourne stopped by HuffPost Live on Wednesday, April 9, to extol the virtues of her "dear friend" and set the record straight about the 21-year-old.

"I'm proud of her because whether you agree with what she does or not, she stands by her guns and she's not fake," she told Caitlyn Becker.

Still, Osbourne was quick to dismiss comparisons between Cyrus and Justin Bieber.

"You can't paint them with the same brush," Osbourne said. "They're two completely different people."

[Magazines] Miley Cyrus Opens Up to Tavi Gevinson About Heartbreak, Sex, and Feminism

Everyone seems to have an opinion about Miley Cyrus these days, so for ELLE's May Women in Music issue, we asked writer Tavi Gevinson to meet Cyrus on the road and try to get inside her head. The result was an honest, surprising, and revealing conversation between two young women of the same generation. No topic was off limits: Cyrus, 21, and Gevinson, 17, talked intimately about everything from Cyrus' childhood and the strong connection she has with her fans to depression, heartbreak, sexual freedom, and race politics.

Gevinson, eight years old when Cyrus made her debut on the Disney Channel's Hannah Montana and a senior in high school when Cyrus' VMA performance made jaws drop around the world, met up with the singer in Phoenix for the interview and a night of her Bangerz tour. Gevinson offers a unique point of view on Cyrus' evolving position in our culture, writing: Cyrus is neither a lost train wreck nor completely sure of her place in the world. She's just searching for it on an extreme scale, and, actually, in a much more unique, unprecedented way than her critics might think.

Read Gevinson's entire essay on Cyrus and their full conversation exclusively in ELLE's May issue, available on newsstands in select cities and digitally on April 15, and nationwide on April 22. But first, a sneak peek at the shoot and a few of the things Gevinson and Cyrus got to talking about:

On being stronger than she used to be…

Tavi Gevinson: Did you feel that limitation under Disney?
Miley Cyrus: You know, I'm really thankful that I started on Disney. I got the most intense training. There's times where I wish I could have just started as a new artist, but the world has kind of allowed me to do that. I feel really lucky—a lot of kid stars get all crazy or stuck in what they were, so they can't actually become what they're meant to be. When I went through a really intense breakup—you know, I was engaged—and when I was with him or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn't there to carry me anymore or if I didn't have him. And now I'm free of both of those things, and I'm fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I'm totally okay, and that's so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn't have a boyfriend.

On her connection with her fans and what gives her purpose…

MC: I have guys and girls that come out, and they're like, "The only reason I'm able to admit that I'm gay is because you've made me feel like that's okay." That is so intense, because that is a part of this generation—it wasn't always accepted—and I feel like I am a big part of that change. Or they know that I've struggled with depression, and that helped them get over theirs. That gives me a big purpose—a reason to wake up in the morning that's bigger than to put on my fucking feathers and my little outfits.

On feminism and double standards…

TG: I read that you consider yourself a feminist. What does that mean to you?
MC: I'm just about equality, period. It's not like, I'm a woman, women should be in charge! I just want there to be equality for everybody.

TG: Right! And that's what feminism is.
MC: I still don't think we're there 100 percent. I mean, guy rappers grab their crotch all fucking day and have hos around them, but no one talks about it. But if I grab my crotch and I have hot model bitches around me, I'm degrading women? I'm a woman—I should be able to have girls around me! But I'm part of the evolution of that. I hope.

…To be continued in the pages of the May issue of ELLE…

[News] Miley cancelles Bangerz Tour show in Charlotte

Miley Cyrus is feeling pretty under the weather.
The 21-year-old singer has come down with a case of the flu and is too sick to perform tonight, multiple sources confirm to E! News. Cyrus was forced to cancel her Bangerz tour concert in Charlotte because she is having major "throat and sinus" issues.
Additionally, a Bangerz tour rep confirms tonight's show is postponed but that the next show in Raleigh tomorrow is still on at this point. An announcement may come soon regarding possible reschedule dates for Charlotte.
A tour source says that if Cyrus doesn't rebound though, her Raleigh show tomorrow night could also be postponed. The "Wrecking Ball" singer is also supposed to perform in Washington, D.C., on Thursday followed by an Auburn Hills, Mich., show on Saturday.
While Cyrus hasn't made mention of her flu on Twitter yet, she did recently write, "excruciating pain."
Cyrus' sickness comes on the heels of her dog Floyd recently dying. While perfoming at Barclay's Center in Brooklyn over the weekend, Cyrus paid tribute to her beloved pet by dancing around a giant replica of the late Alaskan Klee Kai.
Feel better, Miley!

[Fashion] Brian Lichtenberg’s Just Being Miley

Considering her apparent allergy to clothes, Miley Cyrus seems an unlikely star for a fashion brand to champion. However, as we learned from Marc Jacobs’ Spring ’14 campaign (and Cyrus’ various onstage antics), the pop princess can spur a frenzy in any state of (un)dress. Designer Brian Lichtenberg, best known for his cheeky T-shirts that riff on high-end labels’ monikers, is the latest talent to get behind Ms. Montana, and collaborated with the singer on a series of wearable mementos for her current Bangerz tour. “I met her through a mutual friend, and we got into a texting relationship,” Lichtenberg told Style.com. “She was a big fan of the brand, so I brought up the idea of [working together] and she was totally into it.”

Lichtenberg, who asserts that Cyrus is “just how you’d think—really funny and humorous” when she texts, whipped up a series of styles for the singer. Her favorite—a black T-shirt and sweatshirt printed with “Mileywood” and Cyrus’ signature wagging tongue—are now on sale at the star’s concerts and on Lichtenberg’s website. “It was an homage to one of her songs and how she’s just creating her own world,” offered Lichtenberg of the tour wares’ inspiration. He added that, despite his reputation for turning high-end fashion names on their heads, the items are not a play on Cyrus’ friend and supporter Terry Richardson’s 2012 tome, Terrywood. “It was just a coincidence,” he said. “I’m a fan of Terry’s work, and it was only afterward that I realized, Oh, yeah, he does have that book.”

Unsurprisingly, the tour tops have been selling like hotcakes (it’s the Miley touch!), and it sounds like the designer’s recently relaunched high-end range isn’t doing too shabbily, either. After Lichtenberg’s Fall ’14 presentation at New York fashion week, his collection was picked up by high-powered retailers Colette and Harvey Nichols, among others.

Lichtenberg teased that he has an upcoming project with a yet-to-be-named supermodel, and hopes to expand his T-shirt line. He also wouldn’t mind collaborating with Cyrus again in the future. When asked if he felt Cyrus’ pesky penchant for nudity would get in the way, Lichtenberg laughed, “Every now and then you’ve gotta cover it up!”

[News] Madonna Names Miley Cyrus As April Guest Curator For Art For Freedom

Art for Freedom Has Received Over 7000 Submissions Globally Since Launching in September 2013.
Madonna announced today that Miley Cyrus will be the guest curator for Art for Freedom for the month of April. Miley will collaborate with Madonna to select daily submissions which will be showcased on artforfreedom.com. Launched in September 2013, Artforfreedom.com was created by Madonna as a vehicle to inspire artists around the globe to share their artistic representations on the subject of freedom and human rights.

Madonna commented…

There has never been a more crucial time to participate and help create change in the world. I’ve been so inspired by people’s submissions since we began and I welcome Miley’s input along with her fans to express themselves artistically and to share their creative ideas on the subject of human rights and freedom of speech. Miley and I look forward to hearing your voices in the format of your choice throughout the month of April and onward.

Miley Cyrus stated…

Art can speak volumes – I’m glad to join Madonna in encouraging people to have their voices heard at artforfreedom.com. It’s an ideal home to see how each of us can participate in changing the world for the better.

Miley Cyrus and Madonna will select the winning artist’s submission at the end of April and will award a $10,000 grant to a nonprofit organization of the winning artist’s choice. All projects must be focused on the values of Art For Freedom.
Launched in September 2013, Art For Freedom is a global digital initiative, led by Madonna in partnership with VICE Media, designed to fuel free speech – to respond, address and protest persecution and discrimination around the world. It is an online public art project encouraging people to express their personal meaning of freedom and revolution, in the form of video, music, poetry, and photography. Public submissions become part of the Art For Freedom website: contributors can join the project by uploading original artwork or tagging original posts #artforfreedom. The project was launched with the film secretprojectrevolution, co-directed by Madonna and Steven Klein.

[News] Miley is the winner of the Billboard Hot 100 March Madness 2014

After one month of voting and hundreds of thousands of responses, Billboard.com can now crown a new Hot 100 March Madness champion! Two years ago, Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me" won the 2012 championship, and in 2013, Will.i.am & Britney Spears' "Scream and Shout" took home the crown. With no Britney song in the past 32 tracks that entered the Top 5 of the Hot 100 chart, a new victor had to come into play. And that new champion did come in… like a wrecking ball.
That's right, Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," her first No. 1 single on the Hot 100 chart, is now her first Hot 100 March Madness winner! The "Bangerz" smash squeaked by its finals competition, P!nk & Nate Ruess' "Just Give Me a Reason," by earning 51.2 percent of the total votes cast.
From May 4, 2013 to the present chart, there have been 32 songs that appeared in the Top 5 of the Hot 100. The match-ups within the bracket were decided arbitrarily, so that any of the 32 songs had a great chance of following "Hold It Against Me" and "Scream and Shout," and tasting Hot 100 March Madness glory.
The voting was close throughout the final week, but in the end, Miley could not be stopped. By toppling "Holy Grail" by Jay Z & Justin Timberlake, "Best Song Ever" by One Direction, "Applause" by Lady Gaga, "Timber" by Pitbull & Ke$ha and finally "Just Give Me a Reason," "Wrecking Ball" plowed through some fierce competition and was voted your favorite Top 5 single from the past year.

Congratulations to Miley Cyrus, and thanks to all who voted!

[News] Miley Cyrus wins best celebrity dance title

The 'Wrecking Ball' star and her 'Achy Breaky Heart' singing father have both reached the top ten of a list of the best celebrity dances thanks to their impressive moves, according to a nationwide poll of Britain by The London Cabaret Club.

Miley's infamous 'twerking' landed her in the top spot beating Madonna's iconic 'Vogue' dance moves and Michael Jackson's legendary Moonwalk, and her father Billy Ray managed to scrape his way on to the list in tenth place for his line dance in the music video to his hit single 'Achy Breaky Heart'.

Other names which made it onto the Top Ten Celebrity Dances included South-Korean sensation Psy, who took the world by storm with his 'Gangnam Style' routine, in fourth place, and Village People's cult dance 'YMCA' scored seventh place.

Ricky Gervais' David Brent dance, Kylie Minogue's 'Locomotion', Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' and Alfonso Ribeiro's Carlton Dance from 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air' completed the list.

[News] Wiz Khalifa says working with Miley Cyrus was "insane"

Rapper Wiz Khalifa appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show on Monday night and after talking about his new album, the chat quickly turned to how much marijuana former Disney star Miley Cyrus smokes!

Khalifa, 26, made no secret of his love for smoking pot and said that while making his album “Black Hollywood” he recorded several tracks with Cyrus — who apparently shares the same affinity.

“I got some songs with Miley on there,” Amber Rose‘s hubby tells Hall, 58.

“What’s she like to work with?” Hall asks.

Insane! But in a good way though, she’s just a ball of energy. She smokes a ton,” Khalifa reveals.

“How do you define that amount, a ton?” the host asks.

“I don’t know. She’s younger so it’s different,” the rapper says.

“Every five minutes she kept being like, ‘Hey Wiz, you don’t have a joint rolled? What’s up?’ She was just blowin’ like a train.”

Cyrus, 21, has bragged about her love for smoking weed in the past saying, “I think weed is the best drug on earth! One time I smoked a joint with peyote in it, and I saw a wolf howling at the moon.”

[News] Miley's dog Floyd has passed away

Miley Cyrus has been left heartbroken following the death of her beloved pet pooch Floyd.
The Adore You singer took to Twitter to break the sad news to her fans, writing: “Today is the 2nd worst day of my life…
“I don’t wanna say it because I don’t want it to be real… But my precious baby Floyd has passed away I am broken.”
She continued: “I know I don’t mean it but I wish he would’ve taken me with him this is unbearable. What am I gonna do without him? I am miserable…”
The star, who is currently on the road in support of her album Bangerz, added: “I’m sorry in advance if I am not myself tomorrow Boston. I will try my best to be my best.”
Miley’s fans were quick to console the singer on Twitter, with the hashtag #RIPFloyd soon trending.
The 21-year old was also left devastated in 2012 after her Yorkshire Terrier Lila unexpectedly passed away, leaving Mi-Cy to tweet at the time: “‘For everyone asking… I have never been so hurt in my life.
“My heart has never been so broken….. Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away.”
Following Floyd’s death, the Wrecking Ball hitmaker is still a mum to dogs Bean, Happy and Mary Jane.
