[Streaming] 2014 World Music Awards Pre-Show
On Tuesday, May 27, some of the biggest names in music will descend on the gorgeous Monte Carlo Sporting Club in Monaco for the 22nd edition of the international World Music Awards. Featuring performances Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Jason Derulo, Fall Out Boy, Flo Rida, Ricky Martin and more top international superstars, the show is set to be one of the most talked-about global music events of the year.

[News] 5 Seconds Of Summer talk about Miley
Miley Cyrus might currently be single but it looks like she might have some male admirers in the shape of 5 Seconds Of Summer.
Playing a game of Snog, Marry, Avoid on Capital FM the Aussie rockers revealed that the Wrecking Ball babe is up there when it comes to female crushes. Confessing he's a little worried Miley might be too cool for him, Luke said: "I would avoid Miley because I would probably look like an idiot in front of her... she's too cool."
But Michael wasn't scared of the We Can't Stop beauty, saying: "I'd marry Miley. Screw you guys. Actually, no, I take that back. Miley's not ready for marriage."
Later when asked who did the best with women, Luke insisted it wasn't him: "It's definitely not me."
Adding: "All of us do really badly".
We really doubt that boys!
The boys are playing the Capital FM Summertime Ball as is the Bangerz babe, who is currently in Europe on her world tour. Maybe love will blossom back stage?

[News] Miley Cyrus Gets Restraining Order Against Arizona Man
Miley Cyrus obtained a temporary restraining order Friday against an Arizona man who was recently detained by police while trying to meet the singer-actress.
A Los Angeles judge granted Cyrus the stay-away order against Devon Meek after Cyrus' lawyers filed court documents stating that Meek, 24, believes the singer is communicating to him through her songs.
Los Angeles police arrested the man from the southeastern Arizona city of Sierra Vista on May 16, and he was placed in a psychiatric hospital, where he remains. Meek has said he will continue to try to meet Cyrus once he is released, according to filings by Cyrus' attorneys and a police detective.
Meek was arrested outside a property he believed is owned by Cyrus, but the documents don't specify the location.
Detective Rosibel Smith wrote in a sworn statement that Meek told officers they should shoot him in the head if he couldn't meet Cyrus.
Smith wrote that a police officer who interviewed Meek "informed me that Mr. Meek stated that when he is released from the hospital, he will not stop seeking Ms. Cyrus and that he will continue to go to Ms. Cyrus' residence until Ms. Cyrus accepts him or he dies."
A hearing to extend the restraining order for three years is scheduled for June 16.
There is no declaration from Cyrus in the filing. The pop star rose to fame as the star of the TV show "Hannah Montana" and has recently postponed several concerts while she recovers from her representatives have said is an allergic reaction to antibiotics.

Last night (18th May) were the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. Miley couldn't go to the ceremony because she's on tour but that doesn't mean she didn't own the show, as always. Cyrus took home 2 of her 8 nominations - for Best Streaming Artist and Best Streaming Song (video) for Wrecking Ball! Also, her performance of "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" was broadcasted live during the show (Miley filmed the performance with Wayne Coyne during her Manchester Bangerz Tour show).

Miley's had a rough time lately. Even though she's put on a brave face after her recent sinus scare (glad you're better, BB!), the death of her beloved dog, Floyd, still weighs heavy on her mind. In an extended Twitter post, she poured out her heart about losing her canine companion, and after you read it, your eyes will be leaking. [News] Dolly Parton: 'I was going to duet with Miley on tour before she was hospitalised'
Country music legend Dolly Parton has confessed that before Miley Cyrus was hospitalised for a severe allergic reaction to medication, they were planning to perform a surprise duet together at her Nashville Bangerz date tour stop.
Parton explained that they had discussed treating fans to a rendition of her iconic single 'Jolene' at the show, but it ended up getting cancelled because Cyrus fell ill:
"She was coming to Nashville and she got sick and went to the hospital. I was going to come out and sing Jolene with her. So when she's back on the road, she's going to come back to Nashville (and) I'll catch up with her."
Parton, meanwhile, recently spoke to Access Hollywood about Cyrus and admitted that she will support her whether she makes good or bad career choices, because she knows the 'Wrecking Ball' beauty is smart and will be true to herself regardless of what that means where her pop superstardom is concerned:
"I worry a lot because she’s like my, she’s like kin folk, although we’re not related, we really feel like family. I’ve loved Billy Ray since he came on the scene and we worked a lot together. And I was there when Miley was born and I just loved her. I’ve watched her through the years."
"She’s so talented, she’s so smart. I’m gonna trust her. I’m just gonna hope for the best, and I think she’s extremely talented, extremely smart. And, I hope her decisions are the right ones down the road for her. And if not, I’ll still love her.”

Today it was announced that Miley will be performing at the 2014 World Music Awards! The event will be held May 27 at the Monte Carlo Sporting Club in Monaco. The show will air on Wednesday, May 28 from 8-10 p.m. ET on NBC, as well as 180 other networks around the world.

[News] Dolly Parton Defends Goddaughter Miley Cyrus' 'Extreme Measures' To Escape Hanna Montana
Dolly Parton thinks goddaughter Miley Cyrus "had to resort to extreme measures" artistically.
The country music legend has watched the "Wrecking Ball" singer transform in recent years from Hannah Montana to the overtly sexual performer she is today. But the 68-year-old believes she had to go to such drastic lengths to be seen as her own person, not her Disney Channel character.
"She was spectacular on ["Hannah Montana"], but she just needed and wanted so bad to break out of that and wanted to become Miley Cyrus and she tried every way in the world to do it and nobody would let her go," Dolly explained to People magazine. "So, she just had to resort to extreme measures but she pulled it off."
The "Jolene" singer wasn’t surprised by Miley’s reincarnation. But Dolly just hopes the 21-year-old can have longevity in her career just like she has.
"I had to laugh, I thought 'Wow,' but I realized she had to do it, she had to go to that extreme, so bless her heart,” she said. “I just hope that she has a long career and I hope that she gets a chance to do everything she wants to do. She’s a very smart and talented girl and I really hope she does as great as I think she can and will because she’s a lot more gifted that a lot of people realize right now."

[Interview] Miley Meets the Flaming Lips: Inside Their Unlikely Collaboration
Last fall, Miley Cyrus broke off her engagement and found herself living alone for the first time in her life. Then, to make matters worse, in April her dog Floyd was killed by coyotes. "It's the fucking worst," she says. "I always depended on my boyfriend, and then my dog kind of replaced him." But she found comfort in an unlikely source: the tripped-out music of the Flaming Lips. "Floyd and I always listened to the Flaming Lips," she says. "So now when I listen to that music, I totally feel the presence of him still being there, you know?"
Now, Cyrus and the Lips have joined forces, both onstage and in the studio. Their friendship started late last year when Cyrus read a Rolling Stone interview with frontman Wayne Coyne. "He said he liked my show where I dressed as a mushroom and a rainbow," she says. In February, Cyrus invited two of the Lips onstage in L.A. to perform the band's "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots." "Our shows are very childlike, like kids on acid, and hers are too," says Coyne. "We're so much alike in believing art is supposed to be fun. She's just a freak. I love her to death."
The next month, on a hungover off-day from Cyrus' Bangerz tour in Tulsa, Oklahoma, they hit a studio to record what Coyne calls "completely weird" versions of the Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" and "A Day in the Life." "They taught me to sing into the sadness, and that's helped me a lot on tour," Cyrus says. "Because I would've felt like I can't keep smiling, and I can't, like, go dance on this gold car, and act like I'm happy when I'm fucking not." (Cyrus had to reschedule dates on her current tour after being hospitalized for an allergic reaction.)
The party continued outside the studio; Cyrus and the band have gone clubbing, gotten tattoos on their lips and attended a 2 Chainz show. They're even writing songs together for Cyrus' next album – which she hopes to cut with her new friends after the Bangerz tour wraps. "On my last record, everything we did was with computers," she says. "But they're real musicians – they can change keys on a whim. I've never seen anything like it. They've had me on this journey that's greater than anything I've been on. It's really deep."

Here we go again, Miley Cyrus has shocked us. The nation is up in arms because she pretends to put her mouth around an enormous plastic penis. She pretends to perform a sex act on a blow up doll with male genitalia.
We’re all carrying on like she’s committed a string of murders.
I, though, am very proud. Not for many years have we seen a stronger image of a self-assured, confident young woman. A young woman who is showing men just what it’s like to be viewed as a plastic object.
Unsurprisingly, it’s the blokes who are most shocked here. I mean, how very dare young Miley get up on stage and cavort with a blow up doll? Men have been taking them on stag do's for years, have you heard any complaints? Er, nope. It’s alright for them to objectify women in that fashion, isn’t it?
Far from being a dreadful human being, the 21-year-old singer is in fact breaking into what has always been a male dominated world. She’s empowering women of all ages. And she’s loving every minute of it.
In the early hours of this morning, a packed out G-A-Y nightclub went crazy for her, they paid their money to get in and they were entertained. Miley, it seems, enjoyed herself too.
So why the uproar?
I shall tell you precisely why... because she’s asserting power. Yes, little 21-year-old, five feet tall Miley - the girl known for so many years as a timid little Disney character - has grown up.
Rather than be the victim of sexism (Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines video, anyone?), just because she isn’t a “busty blonde” who is desperate to be the next Katie Price by posing for mens’ magazines, we’ve all got a problem with her, right? Just because she’s not letting a man use her for his own pleasure, we’re all up in arms. Yawn.
Can we give this young woman some respect, please? It takes someone very stupid to think that she is not orchestrating this herself. Of course she is.
She knows precisely what she’s doing. She’s got a lovely singing voice but where’s that going to get her?
Miley is very, very intelligent woman of the world. She has grown up in the showbusiness industry, she is choosing to do these things - because she WANTS to. There is nobody making her. She well and truly calls the shots.
At the young age of 21, Miley has quite comfortably made herself the most talked about person in the world. She’s sold millions of records and packed out music venues around the globe. Not a bad place to be, in my view.
And as for the parents who are jumping on their high horses, telling us what a bad role model she is. Here’s something: Don’t take your kids to see her then.
If, by now, said mummies and daddies don’t know what will happen on those stages, then that’s their problem, not Miley’s. Hannah Montana is frankly, a thing of the past, whether those adults with worryingly short-sighted views like it or not.
To use that utterly dreadful cringe-worthy saying: You go girl. Your critics, well, they’re just very jealous. Very jealous indeed.

[News] Arctic Monkeys praise Miley Cyrus's cover of 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?'
Earlier this week, pop songstress Miley Cyrus performed a cover of Arctic Monkeys' 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?' and the band's drummer Matt Helders has now praised her attempt.
She treated the audience at her London Bangerz date to a rendition of the track and Helders has since told Australian radio station Triple J that he really liked her cover.
During the interview, Helders explained:
"I think Miley Cyrus's version of 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?'... She did some bits in there I wish we'd have done. She gets higher than we can... in the voice."
The 'We Can't Stop' beauty, meanwhile, was recently confirmed to perform at Capital FM's Summertime Ball, which will be held at Wembley Stadium on June 21. Other acts that will play live sets include 5 Seconds Of Summer, The Vamps, and 'Burn' hitmaker Ellie Goulding.

[News] Miley Cyrus' Music Director Talks Bangerz Tour Behind-the-Scenes
Miley Cyrus music director/American Hi-Fi frontman Stacy Jones tells us why Miley Cyrus is as punk rock as they come.
Billboard recently chatted with Stacy Jones, frontman of the "Flavor of the Weak" power pop band American Hi-Fi. Aside from giving some inside information on his band's just-announced new album "Blood & Lemonade," he also spoke about his current gig working as music director (and touring drummer) for a pop star you might have heard of: Miley Cyrus.
The Bangerz tour has been the talk of the pop world since it kicked off Feb. 14. Team Cyrus partied across the U.S.A. with its traveling circus of furries, foam fingers, Bill Clinton impersonators and human-sized hot dogs until Cyrus was bedridden in mid-March, forcing her to cancel and reschedule a slew of dates. But Miley is well again and fresh off a successful comeback concert two nights ago in London. To mark the occasion, here are six things we learned about the Bangerz tour from Jones.
1. The backing band on the Bangerz tour is the same one Miley played with eight years ago.
"Initially, the job was putting the band together. We put this band together for Miley and we're going on eight years now. Kudos to her (former) manager Jason Morey. He said, "I want you to hire people that will be her band for the next 20 years. The five guys in the band today are the same five guys who started with her eight years ago, which is rare in the pop game. People tend to come and go."

The list of nominations for the 2014 MuchMusic Video Awards was released today and Miley received one nomination! Cyrus, along with Lorde, Imagine Dragons and Katy Perry were nominated for Favourite International Artist or Group.

[News] Miley Cyrus Slams Drug Overdose Rumors
Miley Cyrus is back to twerking her butt off and standing up for herself.
The 21-year-old, who resumed her Bangerz Tour in London tonight after several weeks off following a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic, looked to set reporters straight at a press conference at O2 Arena before she went onstage.
Starting with that whole, was-she-really-hospitalized-for-drugs rumor.
"I didn't have a drug overdose," Miley said, according to multiple reports. "I took some sh--ty antibiotics that a doctor gave me for a sinus infection and I had a reaction."
"I'm feeling good, I'm alive—so that's f--king awesome," the "Wrecking Ball" artist continued.
In fact, she added, "I'm the poster child for good health."
"I've been laying down for three weeks. I'm gonna go off—I'm like a star waiting to explode," Miley promised before indeed going off like a supernova, at one point encouraging the members of the audience to engage in a makeout sesh with the person next to them.
"There is nothing I would rather not do than lay in a bed for two weeks," she added. "It was the most miserable two weeks of my life."
She was out of the hospital by April 24, after which a brief setback kept her from traveling for a few extra days. But now Miley is feeling "better than ever."
"I'm on this crazy vitamin rush and crazy honey and lavender. I learned a lot about taking care of yourself [while she was laid up]," she added. "I'm probably the only one on this tour who doesn't drink or smoke before a show, as I take this really seriously. It's almost like being an athlete being up here, because if someone was f--ed up, they definitely couldn't do my show."
Which is not to say, however, that she wasn't planning on putting the F-word to good use.
"I'm gonna f--k this place up," Miley promised, referring to her O2 surroundings. "We're gonna have a lot of fun. We're gonna be, like, tops off, f---king screaming."
And so she was.

After 3 weeks off stage, Miley finally made her return! Last night (6th May) was her first concert from the European leg of the Bangerz World Tour in London, England. Miley surprised her fans by rocking some new cool outfits and performing as crazy as ever (check out MTV UK's review of the concert here)!

Earlier today (6th May), Miley was spotted arriving at the O2 arena in London, England where her Bangerz Tour concert will be held tonight! This will be Miley's first concert from the European leg of the Bangerz World Tour!

[News] Miley to Perform on the 2014 Billboard Music Awards
Miley Cyrus and Ricky Martin have joined the growing list of performers on the upcoming 2014 Billboard Music Awards. The BBMAs will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 18, on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
They join previously announced performers including Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Derulo, Imagine Dragons, Luke Bryan, John Legend and OneRepublic.
Cyrus will be performing remotely from a tour stop in England. The "Wrecking Ball" star is a finalist in eight categories this year, including top artist, top Hot 100 artist and top social artist. (The full list of finalists can be viewed here.) Martin is fresh off releasing new song "Vida," off the official soundtrack for the FIFA World Cup.
