[News] Lily Allen on Miley: 'I Feel Proud of Her'

Last May, Lily Allen called Miley Cyrus a "fearless bitch" during her first New York performance in five years; less than three months later, the British singer will join Cyrus' Bangerz tour as the opening act on a select number of dates. Before she hits the road with Cyrus on Aug. 1, Allen tells Billboard that she couldn't be happier to join such a stellar arena spectacle.

"I saw it at the O2 in London [in May], and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the best shows that I've seen in years," says Allen. "It's up there with an Oasis show or the Stone Roses or something. It's kind of incredible to watch -- she's a real force. There's no two ways about it, she's meant to be up there doing that."

Allen adds that the Bangerz tour stage production is impressive, but even without the bells and whistles, the "Wrecking Ball" star would be able to pull off an unforgettable pop experience. "She's incredible, and she has such a presence," she says of Cyrus. "Her personality is what shines through. I'm not close to Miley, I don't know her very well, but I feel proud of her."

Prior to this year's Sheezus album, Allen spent five years away from the studio, a gap that allowed the U.K. star to focus on her family but made it all the more difficult to leap back into mainstream music. Allen says that she also recognizes and appreciates the metamorphosis that Cyrus has had to undergo, following her days as a wholesome teen star.

"It must have been very tough for her to make that transition from the Disney star of 'Hannah Montana' into herself, essentially," says Allen. "People don't really like change in this day and age, and not only has she succeeded in changing her complete persona, but she's done it in an in-your-face way, which I love. I'm all for that kind of stuff."

Following Allen's stint on the Bangerz tour, the singer-songwriter will perform at a string of summer festivals overseas before beginning her own U.S. headlining tour on Sept. 9 in Miami. "I've been on tour [overseas] for about six months," says Allen, "and not only am I excited to be a part of Miley's tour, I'm also excited to only play for half an hour. I'm done by 7:00 o'clock. I can go to dinner!"

[News] Wiz Khalifa explains why Miley is not on his new album

A few months ago, Wiz Khalifa revealed that he did a duet with Miley which may be in his new album Blacc Hollywood. Unfortunately, the song didn't make the cut for the album. Here's what Wiz told Billboard about the collab:

"It didn't get cleared, just because of some things that had to do with the song. I think somebody else ended up paying for the beat, so that song didn't make it."

Meanwhile, Miley's working on her new album and, apparently, on a duet with Madonna!

[News] Miley and Madonna Hint at Possible New Collaboration by Instagram Posts

Miley Cyrus and Madonna have worked together for "MTV Unplugged" and their fans still have their memories fresh of the Miley-Madonna video where the two wore iconic cowboy-hats and sequined dresses for a rocking tongues-out performance. Everybody loved watching the two famous artists back then and the chances are that the two might work on a new collaboration soon.

Madonna reportedly posted a picture of what appeared to be the lyrics of a new song which read something like this. "All of my illusions, could be shattered in a second, you can thread a needle with a teardrop in my eye. It a cruel injustice to be witness to the things I see, looking for the answer."

The "Like a Virgin" singer reportedly tagged Miley Cyrus and MoZella (writer of Miley Cyrus' famous song "Wrecking Ball"), Idolator is reporting. Check out the picture here. Though Madonna did not make any announcements of their collaboration but her fans have been speculating about the potential duet ever since. Madonna's fans have commented heavily about her doing a song with Miley Cyrus and expressed their excitement about it.

Miley Cyrus too responded to Madonna's picture by clicking a selfie wearing a T-shirt with Madonna's topless picture. One can see Miley's tongue sticking out as she poses for the selfie in a dark blue denim jacket on top. Check out the picture here.

Miley and Madonna came together in the beginning of the year (January 2014) for the "MTV Unplugged" special episode of Miley. Pop queen Madonna joined Miley on stage and they did a medley of Madonna's hit number "Don't Tell Me" and Miley's song "We Can't Stop."

Miley Cyrus is bringing us new music, and it seems like she's ready to shock us AGAIN because she's making a tantalizing new record that she promises is completely different from the rest!

Miley explained:

"On my last record, everything we did was with computers. But they're real musicians – they can change keys on a whim. I've never seen anything like it. They've had me on this journey that's greater than anything I've been on. It's really deep."

[News] Miley and BFF Cheyne Thomas tattoo each other

Miley Cyrus took her obsession for ink to a whole new level over the weekend when she opted to add yet another title to her ever-growing resume: tattoo artist.

The 21-year-old pop star and BFF Cheyne Thomas decided to give each other tattoos on Sunday, and of course, the 21-year-old pop star took to Instagram to document the inking process.

Miley was the first to tattoo her pal, drawing a small smiley face on Cheyne’s ankle before her bestie took his turn with the needle and provided the “Bangerz” beauty with yet another permanent stamp.

"tatz @cheythom," she captioned the shot in which Thomas is showing off his new tattoo.

While Miley has yet to flaunt her fresh ink, this isn't the first time the hitmaker has turned her home into a professional tattoo parlor.

She previously got matching tattoos with her pals over Fourth of July weekend and took to Instagram to show off the trio's new new ink. The tattoo, dubbed #floydtat, reads, "W!th a little help from my fwends."

Cyrus has been at home enjoying some quality R&R while she's currently on a break from her much-buzzed about Bangerz tour. But she'll soon be heading back to work as the next leg begins on Aug. 1 in Long Island, New York, so concertgoers be sure to be on the lookout for Miley's new tat!

The nominations for the 2014 Video Music Awards just got announced and Miley's iconic video for Wrecking Ball got nominated twice - for Video Of The Year and Best Direction! Fans are allowed to vote only for the Video of the year category. Make sure to cast your vote now!

[News] Icona Pop about Miley: "She's sexy, edgy and extremely talented"

In a recent interview, the Swedish DJ duo Icona Pop talked about Miley. Earlier this year they opened a few of Miley's Bangerz tour concerts in the USA. Check out what they had to say below:

[News] See Miley Cyrus and Flaming Lips' Insanely Trippy 'SuperFreak' Video

Miley Cyrus has made no secret of her obsession with the Flaming Lips: She's invited the band onstage several times, recorded with them and even made a playlist of her favorite Lips tracks for Rolling Stone. "Once you listen to the them, it's hard to listen to anything else," she told us.

She's such a big fan, in fact, that Cyrus recently filmed a video on her sick bed with them (she was hospitalized earlier this year for an allergic reaction to an antibiotic) for a trippy clip that frontman Wayne Coyne is calling "Blonde SuperFreak Steals the Magic Brain." "This is the video we originally intended to be for a song that has a reference to the drug LSD," says Coyne. "We were lucky enough to get a couple of hours with a bedridden Miley Cyrus. And even though she was still quite ill, she was full of laughs and great absurd suggestions." The band also recruited Moby, who Coyne says "created an enduring, freaky character" at the musician's Hollywood home. 

Coyne explains the concept of the video: 

"The video story is something like this: Moby is an evil, power-hungry cult leader. He wants the world's most valuable (according to our story) psychedelic supernatural possession... John F. Kennedy's brain....the brain contains the original formula for the drug LSD!!! Miley Cyrus has the magic brain!!! And Moby enlists a nympho Manson girl-type blonde superfreak to go steel the brain from Cyrus. She steals the brain from Cyrus while Cyrus is still in bed in a drug-induced coma. Cyrus finally wakes up and is mega-pissed that her BRAIN has been stolen. She enlists a burned-faced Santa and a lesbian Bigfoot ( that are hovering in a nearby spaceship) to hunt down the blond superfreak that stole her brain. They have a relentless pursuit, all the while Cyrus laments the loss of her magic brain and Moby gains powerful rainbows from hell. In the end, the blond superfreak kills Santa and Bigfoot and a baby mole ends up with the brain…Oh yeah. And the Flaming Lips are disguised as rainbows, mushrooms and flowers watching from the sky room where a giant diamond explosion happens."

[Article] Miley Cyrus, Life Coach: Lessons From the Bangerz Tour Special

Miley Cyrus is mostly known as the tongue-wagging pop provocateur and former Hannah Montana child star who can’t be tamed, but as she showed Sunday night during her Bangerz Tour NBC television special, she could probably have a second career as a life coach should she ever want to. Unlike rock-docs from her pop peers Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and One Direction, Cyrus’ two-hour special stuck mostly to the music, but between dancing on stage with giant stuffed animals, covering OutKast and flying around the arena on a giant hotdog, she had some candid and — dare we say it — inspirational thoughts to share with the camera.

On being a pusher: “I think when people watch the show, my true fans, it’s just a bunch of kids, like, ready to party. They’re not sitting down, they’re not there trying to look cool in front of their friends … I see the faces and I feel like they’re learning. It feels safe in there. And there’s not many places where you’re around 20,000 people and feel safe. I think my fans feel safe in that room with me. I feel like they think that I’m some sort of a leader, and I’m giving them the push to go forward.”

On challenging standards of beauty by taking ugly selfies: “A lot of people say they truly don’t care what other people think but … [I] don’t,” Cyrus says before discussing her fondness for making weird faces in pictures, which she says encourages her fans to get weird on their own time. “Kids are posting these pictures that are really inspiring to other kids because it’s beauty in a totally different way.”

On being a media target: Cyrus says her new life motto is something country singer Kris Kristofferson told her father, Billy Ray Cyrus: “The turkey with the longest neck is the one everyone is shooting at.” We’re not entirely sure what that means, but in Cyrus Speak it probably translates into something about how the more she accomplishes, the more negative attention she’ll attract. In other words, haters gonna hate.

On how to deal with grief: “I think if I really [accept that he's dead], he might actually go at some point, which I don’t really want,” Cyrus says of the passing of her dog Floyd, who died on April Fool’s Day. “I have to not make myself sick over it because that’s what I did at first. I loved him so much. I really shut down more than I’ve ever let myself. You can try to move on, your shell can continue [to go] on stage every night, but internally I wasn’t [there].”

On helping out the mere mortals in the audience: While performing the ballad “Adore You,” Cyrus fires up the kiss cam and zooms in on couples who follow her instructions to make out. Fans are pretty shy at first, but once one couple goes for it, the rest start to feel comfortable enough to lock lips. “It’s hard being me, but it’s hard being them, too. It’s hard being a normal person and different,” she says of trying to make fans comfortable enough to get their smooch on. “The universe gives this responsibility to people who can handle it, and I believe I can handle it.”

On what to take away from adversity: “When people say everything happens for a reason, it’s more how you’re going to deal with something and knowing yourself more than you did [before],” she says, while reflecting on the wild year she’s had and the months she’s spent on the road. “I do think I know myself more than I did.”

[News] Miley got a new tattoo!

Yesterday (5th July), in a series of new Instagram photos, Miley revealed her new tattoo! It's on her left rib cage and it's a picture of Floyd (her beloved dog which died earlier this year) together with the text "With a little help from my fwends". Her friends Katy Weaver and Wayne Coyne got the same tattoo on the same place of their bodies.

[News] Miley Cyrus To Bring Lily Allen on Tour

Miley Cyrus is bringing a female pop star with an equally sharp tongue on tour next month, as Lily Allen will join the Bangerz trek for a select group of U.S. dates.

The "Sheezus" singer will hop aboard the wrecking ball on Aug. 1, swinging into Uniondale, N.Y. and performing on a total of seven dates. Sky Ferreira and Icona Pop previously opened for Cyrus on the tour.

In case you can't get enough Miley, a two-hour behind-the-scenes special on her Bangerz run will air on NBC on Sunday night (July 6). The creative director behind the TV special describes Cyrus' performance as "intense and wild. She’s got a thrilling command of her stage and the room; this is something I was excited by in the edit."

[News] 'Bangerz' Creative Director Previews Miley Cyrus TV Special: 'Intense and Wild'

The creative director of the Bangerz tour, Diane Martel, recently spoke to Billboard magazine about Miley's upcoming NBC special that will air on July 6. Check out what she had to say below:

"Her performance in this special is flawless and passionate. We see Miley as she is in her private life; very sweet, tender, loving and playful. Miley speaks about her personal growth to date during this tour. We get a sense of the smart and thoughtful artist she is. ... It's very low-key and intimate. She’s sophisticated in many ways and a young, silly girl in others… When you watch these brief, but effective scenes you see how relatable she really is. She really balances being an artist with being a 21-year-old quite well."

"Miley is a very serious musician. If this is something someone doesn’t know, they will certainly know it after seeing this special," she says. "She’s charming, daring, loving and she gives deeply and profoundly from a very old soul. She’s got instincts that are beyond explanation. There is one close-up in 'Wrecking Ball' where she has the gravitas of a Diana Ross or a Renata Tebaldi."

"In this TV special, I think you have a sense if the energy in the arenas. Miley's performance is intense and wild. She’s got a thrilling command of her stage and the room; this is something I was excited by in the edit. To see her eyes close up, to see her lithe body and huge voice making this collection of people respond in tandem, that's the important thing to translate from stage to the small screen."

Martel also confirmed she will direct Miley's video for "4X4" later this summer.

"The ['Bangerz'] show has changed immensely where her performance is concerned. She is so crazy and spontaneous each night. With each different audience, whatever they give her in terms of energy and actual gifts (hats, clothes, dolls, weird props), she works into each song. I’ve never seen anything like this. One editor on the show said she was a mixture of Johnny Rotten and Elvis. She literally will make anything handed to her onstage a seamless part of the number."

[News] Miley is #17 on Forbes' Most Powerful Celebrities list

The American magazine Forbes published its annual list of the most powerful celebrities in the world, based on profits and popularity of each artist. This year, Miley took the seventeenth ranking position with gains of more than $36 million between June 2013 and June 2014! Congrats, Miley!
