[News] Miley is the winner of the Billboard Hot 100 March Madness 2014

After one month of voting and hundreds of thousands of responses, Billboard.com can now crown a new Hot 100 March Madness champion! Two years ago, Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me" won the 2012 championship, and in 2013, Will.i.am & Britney Spears' "Scream and Shout" took home the crown. With no Britney song in the past 32 tracks that entered the Top 5 of the Hot 100 chart, a new victor had to come into play. And that new champion did come in… like a wrecking ball.
That's right, Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," her first No. 1 single on the Hot 100 chart, is now her first Hot 100 March Madness winner! The "Bangerz" smash squeaked by its finals competition, P!nk & Nate Ruess' "Just Give Me a Reason," by earning 51.2 percent of the total votes cast.
From May 4, 2013 to the present chart, there have been 32 songs that appeared in the Top 5 of the Hot 100. The match-ups within the bracket were decided arbitrarily, so that any of the 32 songs had a great chance of following "Hold It Against Me" and "Scream and Shout," and tasting Hot 100 March Madness glory.
The voting was close throughout the final week, but in the end, Miley could not be stopped. By toppling "Holy Grail" by Jay Z & Justin Timberlake, "Best Song Ever" by One Direction, "Applause" by Lady Gaga, "Timber" by Pitbull & Ke$ha and finally "Just Give Me a Reason," "Wrecking Ball" plowed through some fierce competition and was voted your favorite Top 5 single from the past year.

Congratulations to Miley Cyrus, and thanks to all who voted!
