If Rihanna is the queen of giving zero effs, then Miley Cyrus is definitely next in line for the throne, per her just-released “We Can’t Stop” video. (In fact, the “Ashtrays And Heartbreaks” chanteuse might even straight-up usurp the throne if Rihanna keeps wearing clothes!)
Anyway, if you couldn’t already tell by her new Billboard magazine cover, Cyrus 2.0 is in FULL EFFECT. If you’re into things like all-white-everything spandex outfits, skulls made out of french fries, and almost naked pool parties, then there’s no question that you’ll be into “Miley: The Next Generation.” ‘Cause it ain’t no party like a Miley Cyrus party, ’cause a Miley Cyrus party HAS GIFS. In the Mike WiLL Made It-directed video (P.S. he also produced the track!), Miley has curated her ultimate dream world: a NSFW-filled land where she can wear all the spandex she likes, writhe on a bed next to dudes who aren’t Liam Hemsworth, and twerk for however long she wants! (As she says, “Only god can judge us.”) With a handful of her most “fun” pals (pals who do things like eat money sandwiches), Miley throws a HUGE rager in a mansion, where she swats at hot dog-and-hamburger-filled piñatas (because candy is WAY too basic), works off her lunch on the elliptical, and chills with some life-size dancing bears. (Dunno about you, but we’re a little reminded of Taylor Swift’s furry “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” video. Except WAY less innocent.)
The whole clip is curated bizarreness at its very best, but we suppose if we had the amount of disposable income as Miley, we, too, could throw ragers with cold cut money sandwiches, “twerk”-themed alphabet soup (does it taste better when “twerk” is spelled out on a spoon??), and abnormally attractive friends. In the meantime, we’ll just watch “We Can’t Stop” a few more times and maybe buy a piñata for our next outdoor BBQ. And then see if any of our “artsy” friends might be interested in re-creating Miley’s french fry skull art.
