Miley signs with RCA! "Miley Cyrus: 2013 Album Preview"

After 2010’s underwhelming “Can’t Be Tamed” left Miley a free agent, parting ways with longtime label Hollywood Records, the opportunity to further expand her pop sound into new and edgier places became quite appealing to the 19-year-old artist formerly known as Hannah Montana. As she told Billboard at September’s IHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas, Cyrus booked studio time with hip-hop producers like Pharrell Williams, Hit-Boy and Da Internz, the latter of whom helmed Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake” and Big Sean’s “A$$.” Cyrus was still talking to labels around IHeartRadio time, but Billboard has since learned that the singer has signed with RCA for a release later this year and that Dr. Luke will be among the album’s collaborators.
