Miley Cyrus is turning 21 on Saturday, and as a birthday present, MTV is handing her the keys to the channel.
Yes, beginning at 12 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday, November 23 — with the debut of "21 Candles: Miley's MTV Moments," an all-new original special that looks back at her iconic music videos, performances and MTV milestones — we're dedicating a full eight hours of programming to the reigning pop-culture queen ... all hosted by Miley herself.
Immediately following the premiere of "21 Candles," MTV will re-air the documentary "Miley: The Movement Deluxe Edition," featuring all-new commentary from the birthday girl, followed by a pair of MTV shows she hand-picked: "Awkward" and "Snooki and JWOWW." Throughout the day, Smilers who tweet birthday wishes using the hashtag #HappyBirthdayMiley or post Instagram video messages will have the chance to appear on MTV throughout Miley's on-air birthday bash.
And while we're celebrating Miley's best moments this weekend, we started early with Throwback Thursday, for which we found a clip of Cyrus buggin' out at the 2008 VMAs. Behind-the-scenes, a bee landed on her. She freaked out, shaking it off and letting out a shrill scream. Thankfully, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift came to the rescue. Classic Miley MTV moment!
