Miley Cyrus’ engagement ring has been MIA as of late, and for a really good reason. But unlike what the media make you think, it’s not that she’s called off her wedding to actor Liam Hemsworth.
The singer took to Twitter late Thursday night to clear up the real reason her finger is bare in an exchange with her back-up singer Lindsey J. Lee. After Lee wrote, “had to send off my engagement ring today to get fixed… one of the little diamonds fell out… I feel naked without it :( so sad,” Cyrus took the occasion to clear up some rumors about her own missing bling.
Miley said, “ugh that’s the worst! I just had a similar situation except when it happens to me then everyone says my wedding is off.”
She was first spotted without her ring last week, while making her way out of a recording studio, where she is hard at work on her 2013 album release. The singer/actress previously denied calling off her wedding to the “Hunger Games” star on Twitter last Wednesday.
While the former Disney star is currently in the U.S., Hemsworth has been spending time abroad. He first went home to Australia and, on Friday, was in Manila, Philippines, where he was making promotional appearances as the face of the Bench clothing line, according to the brand’s Instagram account.
Cyrus’ statement about her ring came on the same day she thanked fellow starlet Evan Rachel Wood for speaking out against tabloids. “I ♥ @evanrachelwood Thank you for always speakin the truth. #badbitchcontestyoureinfirstplace,” she shared.
