[News] Miley Cyrus Adopts New Dog, Emu!

Miley Cyrus is finally ready to say goodbye to Floyd, the mini husky who died suddenly earlier this year, and hello to a brand-new baby: Emu, the Shetland sheepdog. She announced the adoption earlier today on Instagram, along with a series of photos of the pair, clarifying that "He's here and here to stay":

"time to start making Emu accounts smilers. He's here and here to stay. I welcomed Emu Coyne Cyrus into the family a couple days ago. Been keepin him a secret cause sometimes I'm weird like that. It's taken some time to be ready for this next step and loving again. There will never be anyone like Floyd. There was a bond that was so deep it's irreplaceable but that's not what I am trying to do. Never will I replace Floyd and that's something I had to take time to understand. we had a very special memorial service for Floyd and I felt my angel Floydy give Emu his blessing. I prayed to Floyd to just give him a touch of his awesomeness and he has. He is so special and different than my baby Floyd and I think Floyd did that on purpose. But sometimes he does little things that remind me of him and it makes me smile I'm blissed the out right now. I feel like this is a new beginning in so many ways. I feel a change coming on."

The adoption follows a long mourning period for Cyrus's beloved Floyd, for whom the singer openly cried and stopped performing during her Bangerz tour earlier this year. Following the death, her mother replaced the dog briefly with a small mixed breed named Moonie, but the dog was given to a family friend shortly thereafter, Cyrus claiming she wasn't "ready to love again."

[News] Shailene Woodley: "Miley Cyrus' Behavior Is None Of Your Business"

Don't worry, Miley Cyrus: Shailene Woodley has totally got your back.

In an interview for the July issue of Vanity Fair, the 22-year-old actress defended the famous pop star against negative public reactions to her image.

"Miley isn't rude or mean or cruel to anyone in her actions," she said. "She just does herself. And regardless of whether you agree with what she's doing or not, it's none of your business what she does."

The "Divergent" star says parents worrying about Miley should focus their concern elsewhere.

"If you don't want your kids to watch it, you know, you can change that situation at home, but don't make a big deal of what she's doing," Woodley said. "Make a big deal about the bullies at school who are beating kids up."

It's no surprise that Woodley would empathize with Miley, as the "Fault in Our Stars" actress values being oneself above almost all else.

"People that I look up to in life are people who make a difference, and brave, strong women," she said. "The greatest people who have inspired me in my life don’t go out trying to be a role model. They just are devoted ... and they’re not afraid of what other people think of them.”
