[News] Pharrell Gushes About Working With Miley Cyrus on ‘G I R L’

Pharrell phoned in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest Monday morning after his “Happy” performance at the Oscars to talk his new album, G I R L.
Pharrell goes on to say he titled his album G I R L because he wanted to “have 10 songs and 46 minutes of uninterrupted time” dedicated to women, who have been supportive of his career.
Also featured on the album is Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, and even Miley Cyrus, of whom Pharrell is extremely proud. “I love Miley,” he gushes of the singer, who lent her vocals to his track, “Come Get It Bae.”
I’ll never forget telling you she’s on her way … and there’s so much more there [than Hannah Montana] … it was a pleasure having her on the record … I wanted her tone and I felt her tone took it to the next level.”
Pharrell hopes listeners don’t only hear the music, but feel it as well, adding that he believes this album is his best work yet.

[Reviews] Miley Cyrus Bangerz Tour more fun than shocking

The most shocking thing about the Miley Cyrus Bangerz Tour may be the fact that anyone would find what Cyrus did at US Airways Center Thursday, Feb, 27, all that shocking in 2014, decades down the road from “Like a Virgin.”

Yes, the show began with Cyrus sliding down a giant tongue that snaked out of an even bigger video projection of her face. And yes, she rode a very phallic hot dog through the air.

But like most of the sexual content in the Bangerz show, it was done with a wink and a smile, a point that should have been clear from a glance at the gleeful expression on Cyrus’ face as she came down the slide in a skimpy red leotard.

At 21, Cyrus is certainly celebrating her sexual independence after four seasons of “Hannah Montana,” a Disney Channel series whose squeaky-clean image she’s desperately trying to shake. But there’s something inherently campy and, at times, cartoonish to the way she’s gone about it — cavortng with furries and a dancing horse in a red-and-white-checkered-tablecloth pattern whose tongue is also hanging out. Even the part of the show that found her frolicking with dancers on a giant bed — the male dancers in boxers, the women in nighties — felt more like a scene from “Grease” as filtered through Madonna than anything that should be causing panic at the PTA or being called an “orgy.” It was kind of cute, like most of what she did.

[News] Miley Cyrus Tells Ronan Farrow: I Don't Know if I Want to Be Nicole Kidman or Tom Cruise

Miley Cyrus just revealed her latest guilty pleasure.
No, it's not twerking. It's actually one of Hollywood's former power couples. During her interview with Ronan Farrow for MSNBC, the controversial pop star confessed her love for Days of Thunder, the 1990 action film starring Tom Cruise and ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
"My favorite movie that I've been watching right now is Days of Thunder," she said. "I watched it three nights in a row. I want to be Nicole Kidman so bad, slash I'm kind of obsessed and kind of want to—I don't know if I want to be Nicole Kidman or if I want to be Tom Cruise, because his outfits are better."
"But her hair and she's so everything in that movie," she continued. "But his outfits are so... Every day I want to wear like a white buttoned-up shirt because every single day, ever since I watched Days of Thunder, that when I got obsessed with button-ups."
So, it turns out the "Wrecking Ball" singer doesn't have an aversion to clothing. Good to know.
The 21-year-old also went on to address all the backlash she's received about the black dancers she's featured in her raunchy performances.
"It's really funny how serious people take it. And they're like, you're racist. And I'm like, 'Really?'," she said. "We're like a bunch of kids dancing around in, like, bears, but we don't do choreography. They're just like dancing, doing these cute moves and they're awesome dancers like just on their own. It's not me telling them how to be."
Take that, haters.
