[News] Why Maxim named Miley Cyrus the Hottest Woman of 2013

Maxim magazine knows a thing or two about beautiful women. The men's magazine's executive editor Patrick Carone joined us in the FOX411 studio to reveal just how former tween queen Miley Cyrus took the top spot on Maxim's 2013 Hot 100 list.

“We went for Miley for a variety of reasons. First and foremost the Hot 100 over the last few years, actually specifically the last two years, we’ve actually had voting online and so we’ve put a bunch of women we think would be contenders on Maxim.com and we just have our readers go online and vote," Carone said. "Miley just annihilated."

Carone said Miley's vote-in landslide was due to a series of factors.

“The voting for her was absolutely tremendous, and then it doesn’t hurt she’s extremely cute. She’s young and she has her whole career ahead of her and I think really the thing with Miley that we love so much is she’s a global, international force," he said. "Like she’s the kind of person who cuts her hair and it’s literally news in Japan and India. Everyone is fascinated by her love life. We’ve grown up with her. We’ve seen her turn from kind of a young girl into this beautiful woman and we really can’t get ‘Party in the U.S.A’ out of our heads.”

Miley was so excited to be number one spot, she Instagramed to the world five days before Maxim officially announced the news, “I’m so happy to be #1 on Maxim’s HOT 100.”  Although she stole some of Maxim's thunder, Carone said Maxim was happy Miley was so enthusiast about her win

“Well it’s sort of the thing that we’re happy that people are excited about it and we’re happy specifically that she’s excited. You know the fact is she wouldn’t have done it if she didn’t care," Carone said. "A lot of times especially when you have people at this level you always wonder if maybe their handlers do everything. Michael Jackson in some weird room, in some corner where people feed them meals, nothing really happens. But Miley is a real living breathing woman, and she got excited. We named her the hottest woman in the entire world so we can’t really blame her. She got a little overzealous.”

[Fashion Face-off] Who Wore It Best: Miley Cyrus or Kate Moss?

It was easy to catch Miley Cyrus and Kate Moss in similar Marc Jacob's fishnet floor-length gowns with a nude body-hugging dress underneath -- they both rock the style in their own unique way. The question is, Who Wore It Best?

Cyrus, 20, wore the punk-approved dress to the Met Gala on Monday, May 6 in NYC. Spiking her short blonde hair, the singer/actress looked fierce with bright red lips and dramatic eye makeup.

Moss, 39, on the other hand, opted to keep her hair down with the dress. The model wore the dress a few years earlier than Cyrus -- at 2011's British Fashion Awards, but also paired the dress with a similar shade of red lipstick.

[Fashion Face-off] Miley Or Willow Smith: Who Wore A Striped Chanel Jumpsuit Best?

Honestly, we really hate pitting two people we love oh-so-much against each other, but when we noticed that Miley Cyrus and Willow Smith wore the EXACT same striped Chanel jumpsuit, we just had to talk about it. You might remember Miley sporting the black and white number back in March paired with a gold choker necklace, stacked bracelets, bright red lipstick, studded earrings and her signature blonde strands, but just yesterday, Willow stepped out wearing a similar get-up—complete with a new platinum 'do!

Willow sported blunt bangs with wavy, shoulder-length strands, a throwback '90s tattoo necklace, black bowler hat, cropped leather jacket, and studded pointy heels. She kept her makeup minimal with just a swipe of silver across the lids and not much else! We think both ladies look TOTALLY adorable, but between both ensembles, we'd say Miley really nailed this one. We like how she kept it really sleek and simple with few accessories and a pop of red on the lip. Also, we would've loved to see Willow's jumpsuit taken-in a few inches at the bottom so it skimmed the floor like Miley's. [News] Miley follows Maxim's hottest with Billboard Awards surprise

After months of teases, Miley Cyrus finally seems poised to give fans new music from her forthcoming album. The singer took to Twitter late Thursday to reveal, as coyly as she could, that fans can expect something new from her at the Billboard Music Awards this month.

“Maybe y’all will find out a LIL sum at the up coming @billboard music awards! Maybe…. Like…. A…. Singgggg…..llllleeeee……………..,” she wrote, leaving fans in the dark about any other details. The show goes live from Las Vegas on May 19.

Back in March, when she called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, Cyrus teased that she was likely to drop a collaboration with Snoop Lion, which she recorded for her as-yet-untitled upcoming album.

Fans got a taste of what the new Miley sounds like courtesy of two collaborations: one additional collabo with Snoop titled “Ashtrays and Heartaches,” and a will.i.am team-up called “Fall Down.”

Additional details about Cyrus’ next album release have yet to be announced, but production team Da Internz noted that Miley is all grown up on it. “I can say it’s definitely going to shock a lot of people; definitely grown up,” Ernest “Tuo” Clark told MTV News earlier this year. “It’s natural; it’s not her trying to do like pop, four on the floor. What she did was, I just feel like, was different and needed in the game and, then, for her, a huge ‘wow’ factor.

In addition to new music, the singer has been named Maxim magazine’s hottest woman on their annual Hot 100 list. The singer teased the news last week and it was confirmed on Thursday. She beat out the likes of Selena Gomez, who landed at #2, and Rihanna, who sits at #3. Actresses Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lawrence sit at #4 and #5, respectively.

“It feels amazing to be No. 1, especially because it was voted on by the fans. I have the best fans in the world!” she told the magazine about the triumph. “It’s every woman’s fantasy to be told she’s No.1 on Maxim‘s Hot 100! So crazy!”

For fans of Miley Cyrus, the wait for new music is nearly over.

She tweeted on Thursday evening to her nearly 12 million fans that the countdown is on.

“Dayummm y’all THIRSTY for some new music! Coming soon! I promise! Stay tuned,” Miley teased. Then, she added, “Maybe y’all will find out a LIL sum at the up coming @billboard music awards,” which are on May 19. “Maybe…. Like…. A…. Singgggg…..llllleeeee……………..”

Miley’s upcoming fourth album has been her main focus over much of the past year.

During a Google+ hangout last month with Will.i.am (she’s on his new album!), the engaged 20-year-old told fans she is now concentrating on new music more than ever before. “All I do is focus on my music,” Miley shared online. “The only place I ever am is at the studio.”

Unintentional punk icon Miley Cyrus has been getting off on torturing her fans with the promise of new music for so long now, it feels like a few hip-hop collaborations of decent quality (see: Snoop Lion, will.i.am) are the best the world can possibly expect — but a respite from the misery might be coming very soon. Last night, Mileybird took to Twitter to continue trolling her followers (who she described as “THIRSTY,” quite accurately) and reiterate the promise of new music “coming soon.”

Here’s the new wrinkle: She said that we may find out “a LIL sum” at the Billboard Music Awards — like a new single.
